Slavery is a form of forced labour in which people are considered to be the property of others. Slaves can be held against their will from the time of their capture, purchase or birth, and deprived of the right to leave, to refuse to work, or to receive compensation (such as wages). Evidence of slavery predates written records, and has existed in many cultures. In some societies, slavery existed as a legal institution or socio-economic system, but today it is formally outlawed in many countries and condemned by the Universal Declaration of Human Rights. Nevertheless, the practice continues in various forms around the world, and there are currently millions slaves globally. There are currently more people enslaved today than all of the African slaves who were brought to the America by the Europeans and Americans. |
After slavery was universal abolished, most people came with new ways of enslaving other people. Before I mention some new ways of slavery, I want consider the life of a slave. Slaves were people who were sold by force and sometimes they will sell themselves after considering that they can not make it in life on their own. Slaves use to work for their masters in exchange for food,clothing,medication and accommodation and they were full depending on their masters for everything, without their masters there was no life in them. Slaves were working hard just for food,clothing,medication and shelter, if it happen that they are fired by their masters, that will mean life will be difficult for them. They were working just to make their masters rich and for them to receive something that will just keep them alive.If you dont get full benefits of your labour that might mean that you are a slave.If you cannot decide how much you want for your effort ,that might mean you are a slave.If someone decide for you how much you are worthy that might mean you are a slave.If you work for someone and he decide what you will receive that might mean you are a slave. |

Nowadays slavery is practice in different ways, and called in other names and the results are the same as before. Employment is another form of slavery, most people who are employed they are working for the same result as slavery which is food, clothing, medication and accommodation while their masters are getting rich. This wages that are received by employees are mostly enough for them just to survive and have energy to come to work every day. What a slave was working for in those days is still the same as what the employees are working for except that the wages that is received by employees is sometimes not even enough to cater for food, clothing, medication and shelter as a results depend on borrowing sinking in debts. Other forms of slavery are soccer players,prostitutes,actors,boxers,musicians and church goers. All the mentioned forms of slavery works the same way as all slavery where the slave work very hard to make the master rich in return of a very low salary compared to what the master receive. All people were born to be free; no one was suppose to work for someone in order to live. Employment is truly another form of slavery because the goal of an employee is the same as that of a slave. When you are employed your life is control by your employer, he is the one who determine your future that means you are a dependant.
When considering the difference between the nowadays slavery and the former,one will find that the former was even better that the current slavery because the master was providing every need for the slave.But today the whole stress of providing all the needs is upon the slave who receive a small salary that is not even enough for all the expenses.That is the reason that most employees are living on debts,they are owing everything they have from food,clothing,car.house and even their lives and they think that is normal yet that is poverty and slavery.They are indebted to their master,the master is also the one who provide finance for buying all this goods they have to work for the master in order to pay ther master for the rest of their lives.People who live in bond houses are also homeless because if they cannot be able to pay the master they will be on the street without a house,they look like they have a home yet if they fail to pay, that home will be repossesed.We are not suppose to be proud of such situation because that is slavery.In the former days, if a slave was fired the result was homelessness and today if an employee is fire the result will be homelessness. |

By considering other creature, we find that all animals are hunting for themselves and they are not employed by other animals. We will never see another animal looking for employment from another animal, they hunt for themselves. Human beings are the wisest among all other creatures yet they the only species that seek employment from another human being .Human beings have fallen far below animals, even lower that insects .Insects are able to provide food for themselves for example ants,bees,flies,spiders,cockroach,mosquitos and grasshoppers are all independent they can not work for any other insects ,even a chameleon can provide for itself. Let’s strive for independence and break this evil chain of employment which is also another form of slavery.
