   Home      CAPITALISM

Capitalism is an economic system in which the means of production are privately owned and operated for a private profit; decisions regarding supply, demand, price, distribution, and investments are made by private actors in the free market; profit is distributed to owners who invest in businesses, and wages are paid to workers employed by businesses and companies.

There is no consensus on the precise definition of capitalism, nor how the term should be used as an analytical category. There is, however, little controversy that private ownership of the means of production, creation of goods or services for profit in a market, and prices and wages are elements of capitalism. There are a variety of historical cases to which the designation is applied, varying in time, geography, politics and culture. Some define capitalism as where all the means of production are privately owned, and some define it more loosely where merely "most" are in private hands —while others refer to the latter as a mixed economy biased toward capitalism. More fundamentally, others define capitalism as a system where production is carried out to generate profit, or exchange-value, regardless of legal ownership titles. Private ownership in capitalism implies the right to control property, including determining how it is used, who uses it, whether to sell or rent it, and the right to the revenue generated by the property.

Economists, political economists and historians have taken different perspectives on the analysis of capitalism. Economists usually emphasize the degree that government does not have control over markets, and on property rights. Most political economists emphasize private property, power relations, wage labor and class. The extent to which different markets are free, as well as the rules defining private property, is a matter of politics and policy, and many states have what are termed mixed economies.

Capitalism, as a deliberate economic system, developed incrementally from the 16th century in Europe, although proto-capitalist organizations existed in the ancient world, and early aspects of merchant capitalism flourished during the Late Middle Ages. Capitalism became dominant in the Western world following the demise of feudalism. Capitalism gradually spread throughout Europe, and in the 19th and 20th centuries, it provided the main means of industrialization throughout much of the world. Today the capitalist system is the world's most dominant form of economic model.

This system places the whole economic outside of the government control but to private individuals who are the one who decide the state of the economy and controls the markets. They even decide the value of your currency, they can make it to depreciate or appreciate This system is more of individualism as it does not work for the benefit of the majority but the minority. For capitalism to work properly there must be at least two classes of people the rich and the poor. The poor will be the ones who work for the rich and are always exploited for the benefit of the rich. In Africa the colonial masters were the one who were the rich and Africans were the poor. Again African countries were made to be the poor and European countries to be the richest. For capitalist to work  well there must be always the poor . Africans were made poor by the colonial master and they also made our countries poor and their people were made rich together with European countries. Most African states were placed under the very same system of economy, they were placed by the colonial mastered who were to be the private individual to determine the economy and the so called African new governments will be just stewards. In this system land and properties are privately owned. Before the so called independent in Africa this  capitalist  took   everything   that was owned by black people which includes  land  and place everything in their hands, they  industrialize  the land for their benefits using African resources  and minerals to enrich themselves. In their system black people were to own nothing but become just their employees. They were able to grow the economy just to benefit the few individuals who were beneficiaries of their strategy. They were not only benefiting themselves but also the countries which they were coming from as they were exporting raw materials from Africa and process them in their countries   and come back to sell the products at a high price thus ripping off Africans .Africa was made a place of taking raw materials and their countries were industrialized. Every African economy was centered on few minorities who were controlling everything. They are exploiting our land digging the bones of our land which they called minerals for their benefit. These entire minerals are the bones of the earth they were not supposed to be mined. Mining a land is not wisdom but foolishness; it causes a lot of problems like earth quakes. In capitalism profit is the most important thing even compared to life. People’s life is placed at a high risk just because some one wants to be rich. Individual gain is the most important thing and everyone wants to be better alone no one care about another person.

Capitalism was made for the rich to be richer and the poor to be poorer. When the so called independent was given in Africa the colonial masters were already rich out of our economy. Africans were already slaves owning nothing and bonded to the colonial masters for their living. When the new black people government were taking over from the colonial master they found that every thing was already in place for them to continue where the masters have left, they were also encouraged by the masters to continue use the very same capitalist system which was already in place to make Africans poor and them the colonialist more rich. Every time our leaders want to change the system they are told that they will scare investors they must do everything according to the masters plan. Today our African leaders are striving to fight poverty and their effort is like chasing a wind. Unfortunately we are still being taught by our colonial master and we think that we will be better by being taught by them yet they are only teaching us things that will prolong their domination, they will never teach us things that will give us true economic power because the day we are powerful economical they will be poor, as their wealthy was gained out of our poverty. They call us the third world because they are on top standing on our shoulders they are rich because of African wealthy. All our economist  are holding firm to the capitalist ideas they think one day we will be rich  by using the same capitalist system yet this systems is the one that has created poverty in Africa, by using the very  same system as we are always  encourage by the colonial master we will sink more deeper into poverty, this African economist cannot think beyond what they were taught by their masters they are always thinking inside the box  as they cannot come with any new ideas except what they learn from the university and that is the disadvantage of education most educated people  are cannot think beyond  what  they learn from the university.

Africans must be the ones who are poor for this system to work properly as per our colonial masters. Since the new government in South Africa took over they have stressed that they want to fight poverty but to their surprise the gap between the rich and the poor is increasing .Instead of seeing some gains in fighting poverty they are in fact loosing the battle because they are using wrong tools in this war. The very same tool that was used to create poverty which is capitalist is the tool that is still used by our government to fight poverty and they are loosing the battle. The very same colonial masters are continuing to be rich out of African wealthy even though our countries are now governed by black peoples. It is only the few government officials who are also benefiting from this capitalist system as they are now driving big cars and staying in big houses. You won’t find an African as the richest in any African country. That does not happen as the system was designed to make the Africans poor and the colonial masters rich and the gap must increase to make Africans dependants of the west. African countries owe a large some of money to those colonial masters. Our economies are still at the hands of the colonial masters and we just proud that we are in government yet we are poor the colonial masters are the ones who are in control of everything.

As Africans we need to come with another system that will transfer the economy from the colonial master to the African people. Definitely we cannot accomplish that using colonial master’s ideas like capitalism, their ideas will just sink us into deep poverty, and we need to come with our own ideas. Remember that a cat cannot teach a rat to run faster that it nor a lion teach springbok better tricks to out run it. A Whiteman will never teach a black man what will make the black man better than him.’ BLACK MAN YOU ARE ON YOUR OWN NO ONE WILL MAKE YOU WISE WHETHER AN INDIAN,CHINESE OR EUROPEAN THEY WILL NEVER GIVE YOU WHAT WILL MAKE YOU BETTER THAN THEM,BUT THEY WILL ALWAYS WANT YOU TO BE THEIR SERVANT AND BE INFERIOR THAN  THEM,EVEN THEIR EDUCATION SYSTEM HAS NOT HELP YOU ,YOU ARE STILL THEIR SERVANT AND THEY WANT YOU TO REMAIN THEIR SERVANT,IT IS YOU  WHO IS SUPPOSE TO EMPLOY THIS PEOPLE IN YOUR COUNTRY NOT THEM ,YOU HAVE BEEN EXPLOITED AND THAT IS ENOUGH ARISE AFRICA ,EVERYONE COMES IN YOUR COUNTRY POOR AND THEY FINALLY BECOME RICH OUT OF YOUR  WEALTHY AND YOU REMAIN POOR AND POORER YOU ONLY GAIN EMPLOYMENT,NO ONE WILL  HELP YOU AFRICA YOU ARE ON YOUR OWN ,HELP YOUSELF !!’’.

We cannot build on the foundation that was set by our colonial masters which is capitalist. Some of the countries like South Africa  which is one of the largest producer of gold ,but the gold does not benefit the black people, you go to places like Kimberly in south Africa where they mine diamond but  the people of Kimberly are very poor they don’t benefit in their diamond. Same as in countries like Nigeria who is benefiting in the oil there? because Nigerians are also poor obvious it is the colonial masters as well as in Ghana the gold is benefiting colonial masters .Most African leader are satisfied with just receiving tax and royalties while the large portion of money is taken to overseas. They just want their people to be employees and the colonial master to be employers, using African countries’ resources to enrich their countries. Africa is the richest continent in the world yet African people are the poorest in the world because the wealthy of Africa is benefiting other countries because of the capitalist system that was designed by the colonial masters. They knew that one day they will give political power to black people and they designed a system that will benefit them and keep then in economic power even if they are no longer in government. I have several systems of economic empowerment for black people which I won’t write about them in this website. Even our land is still owned by the colonial masters we claim that we are independent yet our land is not owned by us, every wealthy comes from the land and the colonial masters owns the land and you do not have the land  that’s why you are  so poor MuAfrica.. All our African leader s have betrayed us by allowing our colonial master to continue be the sole beneficiaries  of  our resources .All that is know by them is that black people must be employees and that was the system of the colonial masters. They are continuing from where the their masters ended and  our African brothers are sinking more into poverty .CAPITALISM CAN NEVER SOLVE THE PROBLEMS OF POVERTY IN AFRICA AS IT WAS MADE TO CREATE POVERTY IN AFRICA AND MAKE THE COLONIAL MASTERS RICHER OUT OF AFRICAN RESOURCES.
